Job Description

Candidates must live in Ohio permanently. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement after completion of a 90-day introductory period.

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Manager, Data Analytics, with dotted-line coordination to the Director of Patient Accounts, the Data Analyst, Patient Accounts, supports revenue cycle performance through data analysis, reporting, data visualization, and analytics solution development. This role transforms complex data into actionable insights that support operational and financial decision-making, performance improvement, and organizational objectives. The analyst develops and maintains reporting and analytics tools, communicates findings to stakeholders, and partners with leadership to support data-driven decision-making while maintaining strict confidentiality of business, financial, and patient information.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Reporting and Analysis:

  1. Analysis and work product demonstrate understanding of operational and financial performance expectations represented in key revenue cycle metrics and performance indicators.
  2. Analysis identifies meaningful trends, patterns, anomalies, and performance drivers, resulting in actionable insights that support operational and financial improvement.
  3. Data acquisition, cleansing, transformation, and modeling activities produce accurate, reliable, and standardized datasets that support scalable reporting and analysis.
  4. Data insights and recommendations are communicated clearly and effectively through written, verbal, and visual presentation methods, enabling leadership understanding and action.
  5. Analytical approaches effectively identify, acquire, and integrate relevant data sources to address business questions and support decision-making.
  6. Analysis and recommendations align with departmental and organizational objectives, supporting strategic and operational decision-making.
  7. Ad hoc analyses are timely, accurate, and aligned with business priorities, enabling leadership to respond effectively to emerging operational needs.
  8. Collaboration with business stakeholders results in the identification of root causes, quantification of performance issues, and development of data-driven improvement opportunities.
  9. Automated reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions are developed and maintained to improve access to information, increase operational efficiency, and support performance monitoring.
  10. Documentation of data sources, business rules, methodologies, and reporting assets promotes transparency, data integrity, knowledge transfer, and long-term sustainability of analytics solutions.

Policies and Procedures:

  1. Knows and complies with policies and procedures as enumerated in the Orthopedic One Employee Handbook and policies and procedures documents.
  2. Provides assistance and support to leadership in implementing policies and procedures as necessary.
  3. Actively participates in training and conducting day to day work activity by adhering to all policies and procedures as enumerated in compliance and risk management programs.
Education, Experience, and Certification/Licensure Required:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, health information management, statistics, data/business analytics, healthcare administration, or a related field required. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Three or more years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a related field required. Experience within a healthcare revenue cycle, patient accounts, or healthcare financial operations environment is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel required. Experience developing reports, dashboards, data visualizations, and analytical solutions using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or similar platforms preferred. Experience working with large datasets, developing complex queries, and performing data analysis required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills required, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within cross-functional teams.
