Overview

We’re looking for a Fab Technician to provide hands-on support for an advanced semiconductor technology research program. You’ll work directly with equipment owners, operators, and engineers to track tool issues, investigate manufacturing concerns, monitor process data, and support engineering experiments.

This position is split between office and cleanroom work. Some shifts may be spent entirely in the cleanroom. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates clearly, and is comfortable responding to equipment and process issues during an overnight shift.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily equipment activity and help resolve wafer force completes by reviewing equipment logs, assessing alarms, and communicating findings to the engineering team.

  • Investigate particle levels, metal contamination, etch rates, deposition rates, and other manufacturing concerns. Collect maps and elemental information, document findings, and share them with engineers.

  • Track wSPC data and control charts to identify trends and potential process excursions.

  • Provide hands-on fab support for engineering experiments, equipment work, and the operations baseline for advanced semiconductor technology development.

  • Attend operations meetings and provide updates on tool status and issues.

  • Create equipment recipes, manage recipe requests, and request equipment monitors.

  • Place tool inhibits or exceptions as needed, maintain equipment operating procedures, and help protect the fab from process excursions.

Qualifications

  • Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work the alternating overnight schedule onsite in Albany, NY.

  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of semiconductor fab experience.

  • At least one year of equipment troubleshooting experience.

  • Knowledge of SiView and web-based specification process controls, or the ability to learn these systems.

  • Associate degree in chemistry, physics, engineering, or a related field.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
