SHIPPING CLERK in Pittstown, New Jersey at Confidential Company

Garden State Growers is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support the efficient processing, preparation, and shipment of live plant products to customers. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately pulling orders, verifying inventory, preparing shipping documentation, coordinating outgoing shipments, and ensuring that all products are packaged and loaded according to company quality standards.

• Process customer orders and prepare shipments accurately and on schedule.
• Verify product quantities, varieties, and quality before shipment.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documents, packing slips, bills of lading, and related records.
• Coordinate with production, inventory, and transportation teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
• Inspect shipments for accuracy and report discrepancies or damaged products.
• Label, package, and stage products for shipment according to company procedures.
• Operate shipping equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Communicate with carriers regarding pickup schedules and shipping requirements.
• Ensure shipping areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous shipping, warehouse, logistics, or inventory experience preferred.
• Experience in a greenhouse, horticulture, agricultural, or distribution environment is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and order reports.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
• Proficiency required in Excel, in addition to dispatch software and routing systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures is common in greenhouse and warehouse environments.
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, as required.

Work Environment

• Greenhouse, warehouse, and shipping dock environment.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures.
• May require overtime, weekends, and seasonal extended hours during peak production periods.

Working Hours: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

Pay Range: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour
