Full Stack Developer (UI/UX) in Ashburn, Virginia at C Mack Solutions LLC

C. Mack Solutions is seeking a UI/UX Developer with strong full-stack development experience to join our team and support a complex program providing Agile development, operations, and maintenance for critical systems on a mission-critical Federal Government program. As a UI/UX Developer on an Agile team, you will primarily build and maintain responsive, production-quality web applications — writing front-end code in React and TypeScript and working across the stack with Java/Spring Boot and PostgreSQL — while also partnering with the design team to help ensure interfaces are intuitive, accessible, and consistent. This is a hands-on development role: strong coding ability, particularly with React, is the top priority, with UI/UX collaboration as a meaningful secondary responsibility. Experience with Agile development methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and stakeholders, is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Build, extend, and maintain responsive, production-grade web applications primarily using React and TypeScript
• Work across the stack, integrating front-end code with backend services and APIs built on Java 17/Spring Boot, with data persisted in PostgreSQL
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines (JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, Harness)
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting UI performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Translate wireframes, mockups, and design specifications into responsive, accessible front-end implementations
• Partner with designers, product owners, and stakeholders to help maintain a consistent, standardized look-and-feel and user experience across applications
• Work closely with the functional team to determine feasibility of requirements and collaborate on implementation approach
• Ensure product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports
• Work independently and efficiently within an agile software development environment
• Provide mentoring to junior members of the team
• Must be able to work on-site in Ashburn, VA 1–2 days per week

You must live within the DC, MD, VA area.

U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate must be able to obtain a CBP/DHS Public Trust clearance.

• Professional experience: 5+ years building production web applications, including hands-on, day-to-day development in React and TypeScript
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, HTTP, and CSS, and experience with a component/UI framework such as Kendo UI or Angular
• Working experience with Java 17, Spring/Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, an ORM such as Hibernate, and Amazon AWS
• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools such as Harness, Jenkins, GitLab, or Bamboo
• Experience with responsive and mobile-first development
• Use data, validation, and feedback strategies that deliver code backed by qualitative and quantitative testing
• Ability to translate wireframes, mockups, and design specifications into working, production-quality front-end code
• Ability to understand trade-offs between design intent, technical feasibility, and long-term maintainability
• Experience developing applications, from consumer-facing to internal tools
• Familiarity with enterprise UI design/handoff tools such as Figma is a plus
• Stay current on important industry and customer trends to ensure applications are delivering relevant solutions
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders inside the company and with customer groups to drive effective solutions

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with Angular in addition to React
• Proven experience designing for or implementing web accessibility (Section 508 standards)

• Advanced understanding of Lean processes and Agile principles
• Design Thinking certifications (such as those offered through IDEO, Stanford, Cornell, MIT, or other organizations) a plus, not required
