Aldridge Pite LLP has an immediate need for a New York Evictions Attorney.
Purpose
The Associate Attorney will primarily handle eviction matters for the firm. Prior eviction litigation experience is highly preferred. The Associate Attorney will utilize legal knowledge and experience as necessary to facilitate the eviction process on behalf of our clients. Must be licensed in New York. Additional bar licenses are preferred, but not required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for facilitating high volume eviction caseload, providing legal advice to clients, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents including complaints, motions and opposition, and discovery requests and responses.
- Representing clients in court hearings. Prior courtroom experience is preferred.
- Responsible for staying current on eviction law changes and trends throughout the New York. A working understanding of New York City’s Good Cause Eviction Law (“GCEL”) and Rent Stabilization laws is highly preferred.
- Educating clients regarding eviction law changes and trends.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Member of the California State Bar, while maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements.
- Minimum of one year of experience practicing law.
- Eviction, foreclosure, litigation, or title experience preferred, but not required.

- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and resolve problems efficiently.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to take initiative, provide guidance to colleagues, and promote accountability and teamwork.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, and other team members.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong client relations and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
