General Description:

The Industrial Hygienist will inspect worksites and work practices for safety and health hazards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Monitors, assesses, and resolves health and safety issues in the work environment.
2. Identifies and evaluates chemical and biological dangers such as air quality, ergonomic challenges, or dangerous sound levels.
3. Implements applicable occupational health and safety regulations and procedures.
4. Creates and presents reports regarding the work environment.
5. Recommends precautions and corrective actions that should be taken in response to identified hazards.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
7. Required Skills/Abilities:
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Extensive knowledge of safety and health hazards.
10. Ability to identify potential health and safety risks.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
12. Ability to address industrial hygiene issues with management and coworkers.
13. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or related science field required.
2. One year of related experience required.

1. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
2. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
