ELECTIONS DEPARTMENT
The El Dorado County Elections Department is responsible for conducting all federal, state, county, city, school, and special district elections. The Elections Department is also responsible for processing initiative, referenda, recall, and candidate nomination petitions, precinct and district boundary maintenance, and locating polling places that are accessible to all voters.
- Administer the Fair Political Practices Commission's (FPPC) mandated conflict of interest program for designated County employees, elected officials and candidates for public office.
- Monitor mandated filing deadlines; notify and follows-up with County employees, elected official and candidates for public office regarding the need for timely filings in order to prevent FPPC fines.
- Meet with FPPC auditors to answer questions and provide information regarding the Election Department's processing of FPPC-related functions.
- Research and prepare press releases and announcements regarding seats for which candidates may file for office in various local, state, and federal elections.
- Research, explain and review required campaign disclosures statements.
- Provide detailed, accurate information regarding the election process to candidates, voters, the press and the public; research and provide information regarding rules and requirements for landowner elections and other special elections.
- Research, interpret, and explain complex FPPC and elections laws, rules and regulations.
Education and Experience:
Two (2) years of experience with elections functions or at a level equivalent to the County's class of Election Technician II.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California or Nevada Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.

The County of El Dorado is recruiting applicants for Sr. Elections Technician. This recruitment will establish a list for the purpose of filling current and future full time, part time, limited term and extra help vacancies for at least three (3) months. In accordance with Personnel Rules 1103.1 and 1105.1, an extra help or limited term employee may be transitioned into a regular employee if the department in which the employee works has a vacant allocated position for the same classification as held by the extra help or limited term employee and the appointing authority requests such transfer.
