In this role, you will lead the national reimbursement strategy for complex therapies, ensuring patients can begin and continue treatment with minimal barriers. You will work cross-functionally with Market Access, Patient Services, Commercial, and Specialty Pharmacy teams to design scalable and compliant access solutions. Accountabilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a national team of Field Reimbursement Managers, setting clear performance standards aligned with patient access and business objectives
  • Define and execute field reimbursement strategies that improve therapy initiation timelines, prior authorization approvals, appeals success, and patient onboarding outcomes
  • Partner closely with Market Access, Patient Services, Compliance, Commercial, and Specialty Pharmacy teams to identify and resolve systemic reimbursement and access challenges
  • Analyze reimbursement trends across payer channels, geographic regions, and provider networks to recommend scalable process improvements and strategic interventions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with specialty pharmacies, healthcare providers, and access stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and patient support
  • Establish operational metrics and reporting frameworks to monitor team effectiveness, access performance, and therapy persistence outcomes
  • Drive compliant, patient-focused execution while supporting organizational growth and evolving reimbursement models
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in reimbursement, market access, or patient support functions within the healthcare or biopharmaceutical industry
  • 3+ years of direct leadership experience managing field reimbursement or access-focused teams
  • Strong expertise in specialty pharmacy operations, pharmacy benefit structures, prior authorization processes, appeals management, and payer navigation
  • Experience supporting rare disease therapies and Limited Distribution Drug (LDD) models required
  • Background supporting neurology, CNS, or specialty care providers strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of inpatient access processes and high-cost medication reimbursement scenarios is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to transform field insights into scalable operational and strategic improvements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills
  • Strong compliance mindset, strategic thinking ability, and patient-first approach
  • Willingness to travel nationally up to 40–60% as required
