Job Description
Purpose:
The Department of Music at Knox College invites applications for a full-time staff appointment as an Artist in Residence in Choral Music and Lecturer in the Music Department beginning September 1, 2026.
Summary of the position:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a visionary and inclusive approach to leading a liberal-arts college choral program, excellence in undergraduate teaching, and dedication to creating music within a diverse community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Artistic and administrative direction of Knox’s four choral ensembles: Knox College Choir (auditioned SATB), Chamber Singers (advanced SATB), Enharmonic Fire (high voices, popular repertoire), and Tritones (low voices, popular repertoire).
- Teach the equivalent of 2.0 credits/year in conducting, music education, and core musicianship. Additional areas of teaching may be possible depending on departmental need and candidate interest.

Minimum Education Required:
