JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in human resources with expertise in various HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration and performance management.

The HR Generalist supports day to day HR operations and serves as a key resource for employees and managers. This role handles employee relations, recruitment support, onboarding, compliance, benefits and leave activities, and HR process administration while contributing to a positive and productive workplace culture.

  • Ensure HR Process Accuracy — Maintain high-quality documentation, data integrity, and timely processing of HR transactions.
  • Strengthen Employee Experience — Provide responsive, solutions-oriented support to employees and managers.
  • Support Compliance Readiness — Ensure all HR activities meet regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Enhance HR Efficiency — Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve HR service delivery.
  • Support Talent and Culture Initiatives — Contribute to onboarding, engagement, and training programs that strengthen organizational culture.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee Relations

  • Provides guidance to employees and supervisors and assists with issue resolution navigating workplace matters with confidence.
  • Performs professional level human resources work and carries out responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as staffing, employee relations, compensation, training, labor relations, safety, affirmative action and employment equity programs, and personnel research.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR staff member.
  • Attends and provides support in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.

Recruiting Support

  • Partners with HR Generalist/Recruiter and hiring managers to recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings.
  • Ensures compliance with background check processes, objectives, and company best practices while providing support and monitoring employee eligibility verifications.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Performs routine tasks required to complete onboarding and exit processes.

Benefits and Leave Administration

  • Supports benefit enrollments, life event changes, employee inquiries, and coordination with benefits vendors.
  • Partners with Benefits and Leave Administrator to administer FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs.

HR Compliance

  • Maintains compliance with federal and state laws and support audits.

HRIS Management

  • Maintains accurate employee data and generates reports and conducts analysis as needed.

Performance and Training

  • Supports performance review cycles and organizational training initiatives.

Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required.
  • At least three years of progressive human resource experience including employee relations and recruitment.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certifications are a plus.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations and remote teams is preferred.
  • Previous working experience with defense contracts or federal contractors is a plus.

SECURITY CLEARANCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.
  • This position does not require security clearance; however, the ability to obtain a clearance may be necessary if assigned to a contract requiring access to classified information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, job fairs, and/or site visits.
