Job Description
Precision Science, Inc., a leader in the manufacturing of FDA/EPA regulated animal health products, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician III to join our team in North Phoenix, Arizona (19th Ave and Deer Valley. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, multi-skilled technician with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, experience with automated systems, and a passion for troubleshooting and root cause problem solving. This is a fulltime Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4pm schedule that comes with the following benefits:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Maintenance Technician III position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving automated manufacturing and packaging equipment in a regulated production environment. This position is also responsible for supporting daily maintenance operations, equipment installations, system upgrades, and facility
improvement projects while working closely with Engineering and Operations.
KEY DUTIES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues across industrial equipment including PLC systems, automated machinery, and production systems, with a strong focus on identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement to maximize equipment reliability.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring failures and downtime events and implement corrective and
preventive actions.
Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and system improvements.
Participate in equipment installations, system upgrades, and facility improvement projects while working closely with engineering and operations teams.
Maintain accurate work orders and documentation in CMMS, including failure tracking and repair history.
Respond to equipment downtime with urgency while maintaining a focus on long-term reliability improvements.
Support and mentor lower-level technicians in troubleshooting techniques and maintenance best practices.
Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements (LOTO, confined space, PPE, cGMP)
Downtime: Proactively identify and support maintenance, reliability, continuous improvement, and facility-related tasks during periods of reduced equipment demand.
Work on call to support second shift.
Work occasional overtime, including evening and weekends to support production and maintenance activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 to10 years of experience in a hands-on manufacturing maintenance role.
Experience with automated packaging and manufacturing equipment.
Experience with automated packaging and manufacturing equipment.
Thorough understanding of mechanical principles, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC troubleshooting, and basic automation controls.
Experience with IQ/OQ in an FDA facility
Knowledge of SDS, HACCP and cGMP
Experience working with regulatory agencies (e.g. OSHA, AIB, FDA, EPA)
Experience with fabrication, welding, machining, or custom equipment modifications preferred.
Experience installing, modifying, upgrading, or commissioning manufacturing equipment and production systems.
Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and automated manufacturing systems preferred
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Hands-on, multi-skilled technician with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, experience with automated systems, and a passion for troubleshooting and root cause problem solving.
Possess a proven ability to diagnose complex equipment issues, identify underlying causes, and implement effective long-term solutions.
Skilled use of a wide range of tools including wrenches, multimeters, welding equipment, and specialized maintenance tools.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to manage work orders and track equipment history.
Ability to effectively communicate with operators, engineers, and supervisors regarding equipment issues and maintenance needs.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while balancing equipment reliability, production needs, and project deadlines.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Strong commitment to safety, equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
May be required to frequently lift to 50lbs independently
Hand dexterity and strength.
WORK ENVIROMENT:
Work in all seasons within a dusty environment evaporative cooling system. .
No allergies to raw materials such as ie... wheat, soy, alfalfa, antibiotics or peanut butter.
