Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Engineer, Applied AI in the United States.
In this role, you will be a core technical contributor within a fast-growing Applied AI organization, responsible for building and deploying production-grade Generative AI solutions that directly enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. You will work at the intersection of machine learning, software engineering, and product innovation, translating cutting-edge LLM capabilities into scalable real-world applications. Your work will span conversational AI systems, intelligent automation, document understanding, and AI-driven analytics. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and data teams to bring AI prototypes into robust, enterprise-ready deployments. The environment is highly collaborative, experimentation-driven, and focused on delivering measurable business impact through modern AI systems. This is a hands-on engineering role where execution quality and speed of innovation are both critical.
In this role, you will design, build, and deploy Generative AI applications across multiple business domains, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and production-ready. You will take ownership of end-to-end AI solution delivery, from prototyping through deployment and optimization, while working closely with cross-functional teams to align technical execution with business needs.
- Design, prototype, and deploy Generative AI solutions across customer-facing and internal platforms.
- Build and optimize LLM-powered applications using techniques such as RAG pipelines, vector databases, and advanced prompt engineering.
- Develop production-grade conversational AI systems, including chatbots and AI agents for digital and voice-based interactions.
- Lead experimentation and proof-of-concept development for use cases such as summarization, document processing, and intelligent knowledge assistants.
- Collaborate with ML Ops and engineering teams to ensure robust deployment pipelines, monitoring, and observability for AI systems.
- Integrate and evaluate third-party GenAI tools, APIs, and vendor solutions to accelerate delivery.
- Optimize model performance, cost efficiency, and accuracy through tuning, evaluation, and iterative improvement.
- Participate in architecture discussions to ensure scalable and responsible AI integration across platforms.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical AI solutions.
This role requires strong hands-on experience in machine learning and software engineering, with a recent focus on Generative AI and LLM-based systems. You should be comfortable building production systems, working in fast-paced environments, and communicating complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in ML engineering, AI engineering, or software engineering with recent GenAI/LLM focus.
- Proven experience building and deploying production-grade AI chatbots or conversational AI systems.
- Strong Python programming skills with experience in frameworks such as LangChain, Transformers, OpenAI, or Hugging Face.
- Hands-on experience with vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Chroma, Weaviate) and RAG architectures.
- Solid understanding of prompt engineering, model evaluation, and API orchestration.
- Experience working with SQL and data platforms such as Snowflake.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain AI behavior and trade-offs clearly.
- Ability to thrive in collaborative, fast-paced, product-driven environments.
- Experience with voice AI, financial services, or regulated environments is a plus.
- Competitive salary range ($150,500 – $173,000 annually)
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match
- 12 weeks of paid parental leave
- Paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and volunteer time off
- Wellness incentive programs and pre-tax transit benefits
- Life insurance coverage at no cost plus optional voluntary benefits
- Pet health insurance discount programs
- Strong learning culture with mentorship and career growth opportunities
- Mission-driven environment focused on helping individuals achieve financial stability
