Job Description

Company Overview

Allia Health Group (AHG) is a financially stable and growing healthcare organization operating a portfolio of distinct, mission-driven health and wellness brands through a shared-services model. AHG provides the centralized finance, operations, and corporate infrastructure that allows each brand to scale with focus and autonomy, while pharmacy operations anchor the organization in Houston. As AHG enters its next phase of growth, we are building durable, institutional-grade financial infrastructure to support an expanding multi-entity portfolio.

Job Summary

The Financial Controller will lead and scale accounting operations across AHG’s multi-entity healthcare portfolio. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role owns the close, multi-entity consolidations, internal controls, treasury, and day-to-day accounting operations, while building the scalable systems, processes, and team needed to support continued growth. The ideal candidate pairs deep technical accounting expertise with operational business acumen and the ability to partner closely with executive leadership and brand-level operators.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Own preparation and analysis of consolidated and entity-level financial statements, management reporting, and KPIs
  • Drive close efficiency, process standardization, and scalable improvements as the portfolio grows
  • Establish a consistent reporting cadence that improves financial visibility for executive leadership and brand operators
  • Multi-Entity Accounting & Consolidations

  • Own consolidations across the AHG shared-services entity and portfolio brands, including intercompany transactions, allocations, and eliminations
  • Develop and maintain shared-services cost-allocation methodologies that fairly attribute costs across brands
  • Maintain entity-level books supporting clear brand-level P&L visibility and decision-making
  • Support new entity setup and integration as the portfolio expands (new brand launches, acquisitions)
  • Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Design, document, and maintain a scalable internal control environment appropriate to a growing private company
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, tax, and regulatory requirements across all entities and jurisdictions
  • Develop processes to prepare for external financial audits
  • Strengthen segregation of duties, approval workflows, and system-access controls
  • Treasury & Cash Management

  • Collaborate with CFO on treasury operations including banking relationships, cash management, cash-flow forecasting, and liquidity planning across entities
  • Oversee payment operations and corporate card/spend-management programs
  • Partner with the CFO on capital planning, working capital, and cash strategy
  • Operational Accounting

  • Lead the conversion from cash-based to accrual accounting — go live by 1/1/2027
  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and revenue recognition
  • Support healthcare- and pharmacy-specific accounting matters, including revenue recognition and inventory where applicable
  • Partner with operations and brand leaders to tie financial insights to operational performance
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other third-party partners
  • Systems & Process Improvement

  • Drive automation and process improvement across the ERP (NetSuite) and broader finance tech stack
  • Lead or support systems implementations and the finance technology roadmap (expense management, billing, payroll, reporting tools)
  • Champion AI-enabled tools and automation to reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and improve reporting accuracy
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team as the organization scales
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the CFO, executive leadership, and brand CEOs
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Technology on budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, and analytics
  • Support strategic initiatives including brand launches, integrations, and organizational scaling
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including accounting leadership roles
  • Prior Controller experience
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and multi-entity consolidations
  • ERP experience (NetSuite strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes, controls, and teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including executive presentation
  • Current authorization to work in the United States without the need for present or future sponsorship
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA with Big 4 / public accounting background
  • Experience within healthcare, pharmacy, life sciences, multi-site services, or high-growth/investor-backed environments
  • Experience supporting a multi-brand or shared-services operating model
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Concur, and modern finance automation tools
  • Experience standing up finance infrastructure in a high-growth or early-stage company
  • Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Hybrid role based in Houston, TX, with periodic travel to the pharmacy office and other locations for quarterly strategic meetings
  • Standard office environment; extended periods of computer-based work
