Position Summary
The Installation Helper supports the installation team in the field across commercial job sites throughout the five boroughs of NYC, Long Island, NJ and at times remote projects. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated to build a long-term career in a skilled trade, is eager to learn, and can work effectively in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
This position requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work in varying job site conditions while assisting with equipment installation, transport, and general labor tasks under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
· Support installation technicians on commercial job sites across NYC, Long Island, NJ and at times remote projects
· Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and staging equipment and materials
· Use basic hand and power tools under supervision
· Follow direction from lead installers and supervisors to complete installation tasks safely and efficiently
· Maintain a clean and organized job site
· Assist with setup, positioning, and securing of equipment during installation
· Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
· Work collaboratively as part of a field installation team
· Maintain punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic on all assigned jobs
· Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, and working in varying weather conditions (50+ lbs capacity required)
Qualifications
· Clean and valid driver’s license
· Reliable transportation
· Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders, heights, and tight spaces
· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
· Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
· Punctual, dependable, and safety-conscious attitude
· OSHA 30 certification (minimum required)
· SST certification (or must obtain within first week)
· F60 & G60 fire safety / burn watch permits (or must obtain in first week)
· Previous construction site or trade experience preferred
· Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
· Mechanically inclined with interest in skilled trade development
Compensation Transparency
The advertised pay range for this position is $20-22 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, specialized expertise, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience, manufacture certifications, CFESA, or leadership experience may be considered at the higher end of the range.
