Position Summary
The In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) provides hands-on engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and fleet readiness support for government-owned watercraft. This position ensures vessels remain operational, mission-ready, and capable of supporting fleet requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance & Repair
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on government watercraft.
- Service Yamaha personal watercraft and other diesel, gasoline, inboard, outboard, and waterjet propulsion systems.
- Support emergent maintenance requirements and fleet casualty response.
Vessel Inspections & Readiness
- Conduct vessel inspections, material condition assessments, and readiness evaluations.
- Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Support fleet sustainment and readiness reporting requirements.
- Participate in daily production and maintenance planning meetings.
Testing & Engineering Support
- Support installation and integration of new equipment and vessel upgrades.
- Conduct operational testing, sea trials, and acceptance testing.
- Assist with fabrication, modification, and assembly of vessel components.
- Provide technical feedback and recommendations for system improvements.
Operational & Logistics Support
- Support vessel turnover, transportation, onboarding, and offloading events.
- Prepare vessels and trailers for transport and operational deployment.
- Assist with fleet movements and mission support activities.
- Provide technical support during operational events and exercises.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel may be required to support fleet operations and testing activities, including:
- Dahlgren, VA
- Panama City, FL
- Gulfport, MS
Qualifications
- Experience maintaining and repairing small boats, RHIBs, personal watercraft, or similar maritime platforms.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience conducting vessel inspections and sea trials.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic operational environment.
- Knowledge of marine propulsion systems, electrical systems, and vessel support equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- USCG Captain's License, military maritime experience, or equivalent commercial experience.
- Experience supporting government maritime programs.
- Familiarity with Yamaha, diesel, waterjet, and outboard propulsion systems.
- Experience with technical testing, integration, and engineering support activities.

- Corsair Craft
- Kraken Craft
- Other government-owned vessels up to 30 feet in length utilizing waterjet, diesel, inboard, or outboard propulsion systems.
