Job Description

Director, Product Management - Developer Experience

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Product Management - Developer Experience based in the United States.

This leadership role sits at the center of a company-wide transformation in how software is built, shipped, and scaled. You will own the vision and execution of the developer experience platform, shaping the tools, workflows, and AI-enabled systems that empower engineers and increasingly non-engineering builders across the organization. The scope spans the entire software development lifecycle, including local development environments, CI/CD, observability, internal platforms, and agentic AI-driven workflows. You will lead a team of product managers while partnering closely with engineering, security, and AI platform leaders to deliver a unified, paved-path developer ecosystem. A core part of the role is defining how AI fundamentally reshapes development speed, quality, and accessibility. This is a highly strategic, high-impact position where your work directly influences engineering productivity and the pace of innovation across the company.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and lead the multi-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for the developer experience ecosystem, spanning inner dev loop tooling, CI/CD, observability, internal developer platforms, and AI-driven development workflows.
  • Lead and develop a team of product managers, each responsible for key areas of the DevEx portfolio, ensuring strong execution, prioritization, and alignment with engineering leadership.
  • Drive the company’s AI-for-development strategy, including evaluation, governance, rollout, and measurement of AI coding assistants and agentic software development tools.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to co-own platform outcomes, shared OKRs, and adoption of paved-path development practices across all product teams.
  • Define and track DevEx success metrics such as developer productivity, cycle time, deployment reliability, adoption rates, and AI leverage across engineering workflows.
  • Translate developer pain points into prioritized, data-driven product bets through deep discovery with engineers, staff/principal engineers, EMs, and adjacent business stakeholders.
  • Lead adoption strategy ensuring internal teams consistently choose standardized platforms and workflows that improve speed, quality, and scalability of software delivery.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of product management experience, including significant leadership of developer-facing, infrastructure, or platform products in complex technical environments.
  • Proven experience leading multi-team, multi-year product roadmaps at a Director level, with a strong track record of delivering widely adopted internal platforms.
  • Strong technical fluency with software engineering concepts, SDLC tooling, cloud platforms, and modern AI-assisted or agentic development approaches.
  • Hands-on technical background in engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or ML/AI engineering earlier in career, enabling credibility with senior engineering stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of product metrics for developer productivity (e.g., DORA, SPACE) and ability to build measurement frameworks beyond vanity metrics.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing product management teams.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence VP-level and executive audiences through clear, outcome-driven storytelling.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary with equity awards tied to performance and impact
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Flexible remote work across the United States
  • Paid time off, holidays, and parental leave programs
  • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities in AI and platform engineering
  • Inclusive, high-performance culture focused on innovation and engineering excellence
  • Exposure to cutting-edge AI-native development tools and agentic workflows
  • Opportunity to shape developer experience at enterprise scale with high organizational visibility
