This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and overseeing the technology ecosystem that supports student success, teaching, and faculty engagement across a complex higher education environment. The position plays a critical role in defining long-term digital strategy, ensuring the stability and scalability of enterprise academic systems, and driving innovation across student information, learning, housing, and engagement platforms. It combines strategic planning with hands-on organizational leadership, requiring close collaboration with academic leaders, IT teams, and senior stakeholders. The role has a direct impact on how digital services are delivered to students and faculty at scale. It operates in a highly mission-driven, service-oriented, and transformation-focused environment. The ideal candidate brings deep enterprise application expertise and strong leadership in complex, multi-stakeholder settings.
This role is responsible for leading the strategy, design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications supporting student, faculty, and academic operations across the institution.
- Define and drive multi-year technology roadmaps for student and faculty systems, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, digital transformation goals, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Oversee the selection, design, implementation, integration, and ongoing support of enterprise platforms including student information systems, learning management systems, housing, and mobility solutions.
- Evaluate and prioritize application and solution requests from academic and administrative leaders, translating needs into structured project plans and execution roadmaps.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal IT teams, academic units, and external vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
- Ensure system reliability, data integrity, and compliance with cybersecurity and data privacy standards across all managed platforms.
- Direct vendor relationships, staffing strategy, and resource allocation to support operational excellence and project delivery.
- Guide organizational change initiatives and ensure successful adoption of new systems across faculty, students, and administrative users.
This position requires extensive experience leading enterprise technology portfolios in complex, large-scale environments, with a strong focus on higher education systems and digital transformation.
- 10–12+ years of progressive experience in information technology, including at least 7 years in senior leadership or management roles.
- Proven experience managing enterprise applications such as student information systems, learning management systems, and related academic platforms.
- Strong background in system architecture, application integration, implementation, upgrades, and ongoing support in high-availability environments.
- Demonstrated ability to develop long-term technology roadmaps and align them with institutional or enterprise-wide strategy.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing technical teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders in complex organizations.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, cloud environments, and enterprise application deployment practices.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational change management capabilities.
- Competitive base salary range: $260,500 – $300,500 annually
