As a Physical Therapist, you are responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This role requires a combination of medical knowledge, technical skills, and strong interpersonal abilities. We are looking for someone who thrives on patient care and compassion as you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practitioners, front office and clinical staff. You will be responsible for skills, knowledge as a Physician Therapist for patient care. Orthopedic or Pain Medicine experience preferred. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities - Clinical Assessment & Diagnoses
- Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations of musculoskeletal and neurological movement dysfunctions.
- Review complex medical histories, diagnostic imaging reports, and physician referrals.
- Establish clear, functional, short- and long-term therapeutic goals.
Treatment Implementation
- Deliver advanced hands-on manual therapy, including joint and spinal mobilization.
- Design progressive, evidence-based therapeutic exercise protocols.
- Utilize modalities when clinically indicated.
Collaboration & Case Management
- Coordinate directly with referring orthopedic surgeon and Pain Management within the pracitce regarding post-operative restrictions.
- Complete timely, legally compliant documentation using our outpatient Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform.
- Supervise and mentor physical therapist assistants (PTAs) and technicians.
Patient Education
- Instruct patients and families on safe home exercise programs and biomechanical modifications.
- Educate patients on pain neuroscience, lifestyle modifications, and long-term injury prevention.
Required Qualifications
- Degree: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active Florida Physical Therapist license in good standing.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine clinic (highly motivated new graduates with strong clinical rotations will be considered). Aquatic therapy a plus for Delray but not required. Training can be provided.
Physical Requirements
- Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout an 8-to-10 hour shift.
- Strength: Capability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds during patient transfers and guarding.
- Dexterity: High manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity to perform precise joint mobilizations and manual techniques.
