Why You’ll Love Working Here

At Rise Community Hospital, patient care starts the moment someone walks through our doors. As a Patient Access Representative, you are the welcoming face and guiding voice of our facility—setting a calm, reassuring, and professional tone for patients and their families.

In our tight-knit community hospital environment, you won't be just a number behind a screen. You will be an essential front-line partner coordinating admissions, navigating insurance complexities, and ensuring every patient receives seamless, dignified access to care.

What You’ll Do

You will handle front-end registration, financial clearance, and scheduling workflows with empathy and clinical precision:

  • Patient Registration & Intake: Check in and register patients, explain and collect required consents and financial responsibility forms, and collect co-payments and deductibles.
  • Insurance Verification & Authorizations: Verify coverage, perform documentation audits for medical necessity and payer requirements (including Medicare), and secure prior authorizations for outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions.
  • Scheduling & Patient Coordination: Schedule clinic and procedure appointments, educate patients on pre- and post-exam guidelines within scope, and dispatch reminder notifications and recall letters.
  • Records & Front-Office Management: Maintain, scan, and audit medical records for quantitative/qualitative accuracy, manage incoming correspondence (calls, emails, faxes), and direct non-clinical inquiries promptly.
  • Regulatory Integrity: Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and The Joint Commission standards while exemplifying Rise Community Hospital’s core organizational values.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Certifications:
  • Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ years of registration, patient access, or front-desk experience in an acute care hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong working knowledge of health insurance verification, copay collection, and prior authorization workflows.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and rapid, accurate data entry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and composure in fast-paced environments.
  • What We Offer
  • 🏥 Supportive Community Atmosphere: A collaborative, patient-focused team where your contribution is directly recognized.
  • 💵 Competitive Pay: Hourly non-exempt compensation.
  • 📚 Growth & Development: Direct pathway to deepen healthcare administration, revenue cycle, and patient access expertise.
  • 🛡️ Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and Paid Time Off for eligible full-time and part-time staff.
