Job Description
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, transfers, and warehouse organization. This position provides direct supervision to warehouse employees, ensures safe and efficient operations, and supports the timely movement of materials and products throughout the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, inventory control, storage, transfers, and material handling activities.
- Lead, train, coach, and develop warehouse personnel, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
- Assign and monitor work to ensure productivity, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and ERP system transactions.
- Assist in coordinating inbound and outbound shipments while resolving shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and established warehouse procedures.
- Assist in maintaining warehouse organization, cleanliness, security, and material flow using 5S and continuous improvement principles.
- Monitor warehouse equipment and facility conditions, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Communicate warehouse performance, staffing needs, and operational concerns to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service and employee relations skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ERP system experience preferred, Epicor experience a plus.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling processes.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and safe work practices.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum high school graduate or GED; preferred bachelor’s degree in Business, Warehouse Management, or applicable field, or equivalent work experience
- Experience preferred in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Two years of supervisory experience, manufacturing experience a plus
- Proficient in Logistics; UPS, USPS, FedEx, Truck Freight (pricing, contracts, paperwork)
- International Shipping and Paperwork
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in a warehouse environment.
- Occasional periods of sitting and working on a computer.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb as required.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
