The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Communications & Design Production Specialist to support our Communications department in this one year contract opportunity. You will play a key role in advancing the school’s acquisition, retention, stewardship, and fundraising goals through the production of high-quality, timely, and strategically aligned communications.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead execution of recurring communications projects across the annual calendar,including reports, campaigns, event materials and institutional documents
Establish and enforce workback schedules, ensuring stakeholders meet content deadlines
Prepare final deliverables to required specifications (print-ready files, optimized PDFs, digital resolution, email assets)
Design and produce high-quality materials including annual and donor reports, fundraising collateral, event material, admissions and outreach materials
Support website updates and content changes.
Create high quality and strategic digital communications collateral and messaging, including social media content and campaign assets
Support communications and collateral for major school events (e.g. Open House, Awards Programs, fundraising campaigns), with onsite event support as required.
Maintain and update Mailchimp contact databases and campaign structures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications or graphic design-related field or equivalent.
4–6 years of hands-on design and marketing and communications experience, preferably in an educational, design or not-for-profit environment.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects with fixed deadlines across print and digital channels, including photography and video production. Strong familiarity with production workflows for campaigns, reports, and institutional communications.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere)
Experience with Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms an asset
Strong understanding of print production specifications and file preparation
Working knowledge of content management systems (CMS) for website updates required
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce deadlines
Strong written and visual communication skills

UTS offers a highly competitive compensation package with a target salary of $86,700. This contract opportunity will also include eligibility for group benefits and pension plan.
