Job Description
Who We Are
At Firestorm, we’re on a mission to revolutionize how defense solutions are designed and delivered. Our goal is to empower U.S. ally nations to effectively deter aggressors—regardless of their defense budget—through innovative, cost-efficient technologies. We call this vision “democratized deterrence.” As a VC-backed company at the intersection of defense and Silicon Valley, we’re pioneering the development of mission-adaptable aerial vehicles that put power back into the hands of operators. By prioritizing operator effectiveness, we’re pioneering a new era of aerial vehicle design. We aim to upend the traditional defense procurement model by delivering world-class capabilities at a fraction of the usual cost. Join us at Firestorm as we redefine defense procurement, making cutting-edge technology accessible to all at a fraction of the cost.
About the Role
At Firestorm, we are building autonomous aerial systems that operate where they are needed most, when they are needed most — along with xCell, the microfactory that produces them at the point of need. Our mission requires speed, ingenuity, and a relentless commitment to engineering excellence. Firestorm is seeking a Product Management Intern to help drive product development across the full lifecycle of our aircraft, software, and manufacturing systems.
This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software product management. You'll own a core chunk of product development end to end: translating user and mission needs into clear PRDs, partnering with engineering to scope and prioritize the work, and driving execution all the way through technical implementation. You'll likely focus on our Tactical Apps — the software operators use to control drone flight and mission activities — and may also contribute to the software powering xCell, our microfactory.
This is a 12 week internship at our Headquarters office in San Diego, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- U.S. Person status (Citizen or Permanent Resident) required due to ITAR regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate across multiple teams and projects.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Experience in project coordination or support.
- Ability to operate in fast paced, iterative development environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in Product/Engineering role.
- Acquainted with DoD or Aerospace
Work Environment
- Based at our Headquarters in San Diego, CA
- Ability to work in-office & flexible hours as needed
