This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer - REDAPL Graph Engine in Germany.
In this role, you will help evolve a large-scale Referential Data Platform that powers critical observability, security, and cost management products used across complex cloud environments. You will work on systems handling massive ingestion throughput and highly connected infrastructure data. The position involves designing and optimizing graph-based query capabilities that enable customers to understand relationships within their infrastructure. You will contribute to architectural decisions impacting performance, scalability, and reliability at global scale. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with multiple product and engineering teams. This is a high-impact role where your technical decisions directly influence platform evolution and customer outcomes.
- Design and build a high-performance query engine enabling efficient traversal of large-scale infrastructure relationship graphs.
- Lead and contribute to high-impact, cross-team technical initiatives improving scalability, resilience, and platform value.
- Participate in architectural decisions related to data ingestion, processing, and query systems.
- Identify system risks, reliability bottlenecks, and propose robust engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with product teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions supporting growth.
- Guide and mentor engineers while promoting strong engineering practices and design principles.
- Contribute to roadmap planning and prioritization of platform engineering initiatives.
- Strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive backend engineering experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
- Proven experience working with multiple data storage technologies in production environments.
- Strong understanding of system design with focus on performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and reliability.
- Experience leading technical initiatives in platform or infrastructure-focused environments.
- Ability to make architectural decisions and guide engineering teams.
- Bonus: experience with graph databases such as Neo4j, JanusGraph, ArangoDB, Amazon Neptune, Memgraph, or similar.
- Bonus: familiarity with Apache Iceberg in production environments.
- Bonus: knowledge of query engines or query planning systems such as Trino, Calcite, Substrait, or DataFusion, ideally with open-source contributions.
