Job Description

Principal Cybersecurity Engineer (Identity & Access Management)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer (Identity & Access Management) in India.

This is a senior strategic cybersecurity role focused on shaping enterprise-wide Identity and Access Management (IAM) vision, architecture, and governance. You will act as the key authority defining how identity security is designed, standardized, and evolved across a complex global organization. Rather than operational execution, this position focuses on long-term IAM strategy, risk management, and architectural leadership aligned with Zero Trust principles. You will influence executive decision-making, security investments, and enterprise priorities while ensuring identity frameworks are scalable, consistent, and future-ready. The role operates at the intersection of cybersecurity, architecture, compliance, and business leadership, requiring strong cross-functional influence across global teams. This is a high-impact opportunity to define how identity security is implemented and governed at enterprise scale.

Accountabilities:
  • You will define and own the enterprise IAM governance and architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with Zero Trust principles and business objectives.
  • You will establish multi-year IAM roadmaps, prioritizing initiatives and influencing security investments across the organization.
  • You will design enterprise identity reference architectures, standards, and guardrails for workforce, application, and privileged identities.
  • You will act as the final authority for identity-related architecture decisions, including authentication, authorization, and access models.
  • You will define and enforce IAM policies, governance frameworks, and access control standards across all platforms.
  • You will oversee access governance practices, including certification processes, exceptions handling, and identity lifecycle management.
  • You will establish IAM risk metrics, maturity models, and drive remediation of systemic identity security gaps.
  • You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across IT, Security, Compliance, HR, and Engineering to align identity strategy with enterprise needs.
  • You will evaluate IAM, IGA, and PAM technologies from a strategic standpoint and define adoption criteria.
  • You will support audits and regulatory engagements by providing executive-level IAM risk and control insights.
Requirements

You should bring strong experience in cybersecurity architecture with a deep specialization in identity security governance, risk management, and enterprise-scale IAM transformation. This role requires strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex global environments.

  • You have 6–8 years of experience in cybersecurity, identity security, or security architecture roles.
  • You have deep expertise in IAM governance, enterprise identity architecture, and access risk management.
  • You have experience leading or contributing to large-scale IAM transformation or enterprise security initiatives.
  • You understand Zero Trust architecture principles, RBAC/ABAC models, identity lifecycle management, and privileged access governance.
  • You have experience influencing security architecture decisions across large, complex organizations.
  • You are skilled in stakeholder management and executive-level communication.
  • You have experience working with IAM ecosystems such as Entra ID, Okta, SailPoint, or CyberArk (preferred).
  • You ideally have exposure to regulated industries or enterprise security environments.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, or IAM-focused credentials are a plus.
Benefits
  • Competitive remuneration package
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan eligibility
  • 30 days of earned leave plus additional special leaves (birthday, family, and personal events)
  • Comprehensive group medical insurance covering employees and dependents
  • Life insurance and personal accident coverage
  • Professional development and certification reimbursement
  • Interest subsidies on personal or vehicle loans
  • Health and wellness reimbursements
  • Inclusive, global, and collaborative work environment
  • Strong focus on career growth, learning, and knowledge sharing.
