Traveling SuperintendentLocation: Florida / Georgia | Regional Travel Required
Gordon Highlander is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Traveling Superintendent to lead field operations across our growing Southeast market. This position will travel between projects throughout Florida and Georgia, primarily supporting ground-up light industrial projects including large-scale distribution centers, warehouse and logistics facilities.
A Gordon Highlander Traveling Superintendent is responsible for the overall field success of assigned projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, to the highest quality standards, and with exceptional client experience.
This role requires someone who is comfortable moving between project locations as business needs dictate and who can quickly establish strong relationships with project teams, subcontractors, trade partners, and clients. The successful candidate will bring strong field leadership, construction expertise, organization, and the ability to take ownership of complex projects in fast-moving environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all on-site construction activities across assigned projects throughout Florida and Georgia.Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, and short-term work plans.Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure efficient project execution.Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and potential delays.Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety requirements, contract documents, and quality standards.Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional jobsite environment.Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Consultants throughout the construction process.Lead project meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and safety meetings.Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify potential challenges and solutions before they impact the schedule.Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable building codes, regulations, and Gordon Highlander standards.Manage project documentation including daily reports, schedules, inspections, punch lists, and closeout activities.Communicate project status, risks, and solutions effectively to clients and internal stakeholders.Build strong client relationships through a responsive, proactive, and solution-oriented approach.Champion and embody the Gordon Highlander Client Centricity Culture in every interaction.Promote collaboration across field operations, project management, preconstruction, and leadership teams.Lead with a servant-leadership mindset, supporting the success and development of team members while maintaining accountability and performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ years of commercial construction field supervision experience.Proven experience managing ground-up commercial construction and/or tenant improvement projects.Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout Florida and Georgia based on project requirements.Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics.Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects and adapt quickly to changing project conditions.Excellent communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.Ability to process a high volume of information and make effective decisions in a fast-paced field environment.Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and scheduling platforms.Thorough understanding of OSHA safety requirements and jobsite safety management.Ability to build trust and maintain positive working relationships with clients, project teams, and trade partners.Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and servant leadership.
