About the role:
This is a Wellington-based Projects and Asset Manager role focused on the planning and delivery of asset replacement projects for a key client contract. You'll manage projects from early planning and budgeting through to delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with client requirements, contract specifications and industry standards.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver asset replacement projects in line with short, medium and long-term CAPEX plans
- Manage project scope, programmes, resources, budgets, variations and financial performance
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to keep projects on track
- Build strong relationships with the client and act as a key point of contact throughout project delivery
- Provide technical input into asset replacement planning, including lifecycle, operational and capital considerations
- Support replacement concepts that consider safety in design, energy efficiency, decarbonisation and sustainability
- Lead and support site supervisors, foremen, trade staff and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes
- Maintain project documentation, quality systems and compliance with company, contractual and legislative requirements
- Champion health and safety, ensuring risks are identified and effectively managed throughout project delivery
These responsibilities reflect the PD's combination of project management, asset management, client relationship management, financial control, people leadership, quality and H&S responsibilities.
About you:
You're an experienced Projects and Asset Manager with a strong mechanical services background who can combine technical knowledge with commercial awareness, people leadership and confident client management. You'll be comfortable taking ownership of complex projects and balancing competing priorities while keeping safety, quality and delivery firmly in focus.
- Bring at least 5 years' relevant construction industry experience, preferably in mechanical services, with a proven project management track record
- Have sound knowledge of ventilation systems, HVAC piping and installation practices
- Demonstrate experience managing both subcontractors and self-delivery site teams
- Bring strong financial and commercial skills, including project budgets, estimates, variations and cost control
- Build productive client and stakeholder relationships and communicate confidently at all levels
- Plan effectively, manage competing priorities and respond constructively to changes in project requirements
- Demonstrate proven people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management experience
- Be confident using Microsoft Word and Excel, with Microsoft Project experience advantageous
- Have commissioning experience and a practical understanding of project delivery and compliance
- Hold a current manual New Zealand driver's licence
- Knowledge of Pronto would be advantageous but is not essential
