We believe exceptional patient care begins with exceptional people. That's why we're committed to supporting, developing, and investing in our team so they can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients and communities we serve.

Position Summary

The Account Executive is responsible for driving referral and census growth by developing strong relationships with healthcare providers and referral partners. This role identifies new business opportunities, strengthens existing accounts, and collaborates with internal teams to support a seamless referral and admission experience. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated relationship builder with strong communication and business development skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive referrals, admissions, and census growth within the assigned territory.
  • Build, maintain, and grow relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, rehabilitation facilities, case managers, discharge planners, and other healthcare referral partners.
  • Identify and develop new referral sources while strengthening and expanding existing accounts.
  • Maintain a consistent presence within assigned accounts through face-to-face visits, educational presentations, facility rounding, and community networking.
  • Educate referral partners on home health services, eligibility requirements, clinical programs, payer requirements, and the referral process.
  • Monitor account performance, referral patterns, market trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Partner closely with Intake, Clinical, Operations, and other internal teams to support timely referrals, resolve barriers, and provide a positive referral-source experience.
  • Maintain accurate and timely CRM documentation, referral tracking, account activity, and required sales reporting.
  • Meet established sales activity and performance expectations, including referral generation, new account development, admissions, census growth, and assigned monthly and quarterly goals.
  • Conduct all sales and business development activities ethically and in compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid requirements, applicable regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business and organizational needs.

Preferred

  • Previous home health, hospice, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hospital, assisted living, or related healthcare sales experience.
  • Established relationships within the local healthcare community.
  • Knowledge of home health eligibility, referral processes, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Communications, or a related field

Physical & Work Environment

This is primarily a field-based position requiring frequent travel throughout the assigned territory. The Account Executive must be able to travel between healthcare facilities, physician offices, hospitals, and community locations; attend meetings, presentations, networking events, and community functions; and sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.

Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required based on business needs.

Success in This Role

A successful Account Executive builds trusted relationships, creates new business opportunities, owns, and grows assigned accounts, generates qualified referrals, protects referral partnerships, collaborates effectively with internal teams, and consistently delivers results.

The goal is to achieve sustainable referral and census growth while helping ensure patients and families have timely access to high-quality home health services.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in healthcare sales, business development, marketing, or account management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships, develop new business, and manage accounts effectively.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, CRM systems, and other business technology.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
