Operations Supervisor – IND & ER
The Operations Supervisor is a hands-on field leader responsible for leading and performing in-plant industrial services and environmental emergency response work. This role oversees crews, equipment, job execution, and customer needs across planned industrial projects and unplanned emergency response incidents while working alongside the team and leading by example with a strong safety-first approach. The Operations Supervisor must be prepared to respond to changing field conditions, coordinate resources, and support safe, timely response operations that protect employees, customers, the public, property, and the environment.
Operations Supervisor - Industrial Services Job Duties:
- Lead and actively perform in-plant industrial services and environmental emergency response work, including spill response, containment, cleanup, remediation support, and recovery activities.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
- Provide field leadership during emergency response incidents by assessing site conditions, identifying hazards, establishing immediate work priorities, and coordinating personnel, equipment, PPE, and materials needed for the response.
- Follow TAS emergency response procedures and applicable incident command requirements; maintain clear communication with TAS leadership, Safety, customers, and other involved parties throughout response operations.
- Conduct job walks and site assessments for industrial and emergency response work to evaluate hazards, scope, labor, equipment, access, waste streams, and project requirements.
- Assist with job quoting and estimating based on scope, manpower, equipment, materials, disposal needs, and operational requirements.
- Lead and perform industrial cleaning using vacuum trucks, hydro blasting equipment, pumps, and related industrial and environmental service equipment.
- Lead confined space entry and cleaning projects in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate containment, transfer, recovery, packaging, and cleanup activities involving hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with training, company procedures, and applicable requirements.
- Plan and direct daily field activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within scope, including changing priorities during emergency response operations.
- Supervise and develop field crews by assigning work, providing hands-on direction, verifying employees are properly trained and equipped for assigned tasks, and leading by example.
- Conduct pre-job safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard assessments; reinforce required PPE, respiratory protection, safe work practices, and TAS safety expectations.
- Monitor field conditions throughout the job or incident and stop or adjust work when hazards, changing conditions, or safety concerns require additional controls.
- Ensure emergency response vehicles, equipment, supplies, and PPE are ready for deployment and promptly report equipment or supply needs that could affect response readiness.
- Maintain clear customer communication regarding job progress, changing conditions, service needs, and response status while maintaining professionalism during high-pressure situations.
- Complete and maintain required job, equipment, incident, waste, and safety documentation accurately and timely; ensure information needed for operational follow-up and billing is communicated to the appropriate teams.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
- This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times
- The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders
- May occasionally deal with heights
- Ability to wear Personal Equipment, including Respiratory Protection
- Consists of both office setting and physical jobsite
- Able to work in confined spaces when needed
Competencies:

- Industrial Services Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of industrial cleaning, environmental services, emergency response operations, equipment capabilities, and applicable industry regulations.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
5+ years of experience in industrial or environmental services, including emergency response operations, or a similar industry; field leadership experience preferred.
Hands-on experience with job walks, quoting, vacuum trucks, hydro blasting, confined space cleaning, hazardous material response, spill containment/cleanup, and environmental emergency response required.
OSHA 30-Hour and HAZWOPER 40-Hour certifications preferred.
