Job Description
The Casework Assembler is responsible for assembling custom cabinetry and millwork components according to blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications. This position is an essential part of the manufacturing team in a family-owned cabinet and millwork company and requires attention to detail, craftsmanship, and commitment to quality. The assembler must comply with all company safety procedures and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine materials, dimensions, and assembly requirements.
- Assemble casework components including base cabinets, wall cabinets, shelving, drawers, and specialty items.
- Use hand tools, clamps, jigs, and woodworking machinery to construct finished products.
- Inspect components for quality and accuracy before and after assembly.
- Perform sanding, drilling, gluing, doweling, fastening, and fitting of materials as required.
- Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Report any defective materials, safety concerns, or quality issues to the supervisor immediately.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement activities.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in cabinetry, woodworking, or millwork assembly is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to learn and follow direction within a family-owned team-oriented culture.
This position requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive hand movements. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and machinery.
