Job Description

At Petfolk, we’re reshaping veterinary care by blending high-quality medicine with a welcoming, connected experience for pets, their families, and the professionals who care for them.

Our people are central to that mission. As Petfolk continues to grow, we are building a thoughtful, relationship-driven recruiting team that can connect exceptional veterinary professionals with meaningful career opportunities across our markets.

The Role

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will help build and activate veterinary talent pipelines across Petfolk’s existing and future markets. This role is responsible for identifying prospective candidates, creating meaningful initial engagement, and helping move qualified veterinary professionals through the early stages of the recruiting process.

You will use a combination of market research, relationship building, cold calls, SMS, email, social media, professional networks, referrals, and industry events to connect with both active and passive talent.

While Petfolk is not a staffing agency, our recruiting team operates with the same level of market knowledge, responsiveness, creativity, and ownership. The successful candidate will be proactive, comfortable initiating conversations, and motivated by building relationships that ultimately contribute to Petfolk’s

growth.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain strong veterinary talent pipelines aligned with Petfolk’s current and future hiring needs.
  • Support recruiting strategies for established markets, new market expansion, and priority hiring needs.
  • Activate new searches quickly by identifying prospective candidates and launching thoughtful, multi-channel outreach.
  • Connect with veterinary professionals through phone calls, SMS, email, LinkedIn, social media, referrals, professional networks, and industry events.
  • Build relationships with both active and passive candidates, including individuals who may not be ready to make an immediate career move.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for prospective candidates and create a positive, engaging introduction to Petfolk.
  • Conduct introductory conversations to understand candidates’ experience, career interests, motivations, compensation expectations, scheduling preferences, and geographic flexibility.
  • Identify qualified and interested candidates and coordinate a thoughtful handoff to the appropriate recruiting or hiring leader.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with candidates throughout the early stage of the recruitment process.
  • Build knowledge of assigned markets, including talent availability, competitive activity, compensation trends, and common barriers to candidate engagement.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition leadership and hiring teams to understand hiring priorities and adjust outreach strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate candidate activity, notes, next steps, and pipeline information within Petfolk’s recruiting systems.
  • Track recruiting activity and conversion metrics to understand what is working and identify opportunities to improve.
  • Contribute ideas for new campaigns, messaging, events, partnerships, and other ways to engage veterinary talent.

What Success Looks Like

  • New and priority searches are activated quickly and thouroughly.
  • Assigned markets have growing, well-organized talent pipelines.
  • Outreach consistently creates meaningful candidate conversations.
  • Candidates receive timely, personalized, and professional communication.
  • Qualified prospects are identified and advanced through the recruitment
  • process.
  • Market insights are regularly shared with Talent Acquisition leadership
  • and hiring teams.
  • Recruiting activity contributes to Petfolk’s hiring and growth goals

Who You Are

  • applicants to build a pipeline.

  • candidate.
  • You are persistent without being transactional or overly aggressive.
  • You are organized and able to manage multiple markets, candidates, and
  • priorities at the same time.
  • You are comfortable working toward clear goals and using data to improve
  • your approach.
  • You bring creativity, energy, and a willingness to test new ways of reaching
  • talent.
  • You work well in a collaborative environment and communicate clearly
