Human Resources Manager in Abbeville, Louisiana at Ocean Harvesters

Responsibilities:

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for safely and efficiently performing the duties including but not limited to the items listed below:

· Coordinate vessel crewing

· Conduct new hire orientation

· Assist in performance reviews, disciplinary actions and termination procedures

· Assist with unemployment claims

· Assist with benefit administration

· Process new hires, terminations and leave of absences

· Coordinate with management for promotions

· Advise management of appropriate resolution for employee relations issues

· Prepare reports & recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism & turnover

· Coordinate with contractors (physicians) for pre employment physicals & drug screens

· Represent the organization in the community

· Maintain harmony among workers & resolve grievances

· Manage all location employees whether directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors.

· Process employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits and status change in HRIS system

· Oversee payroll functions as it applies to timekeeping & reporting, & HR policies

· All other duties as assigned

Experience:

· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

· Minimum 3-5 years progressive HR experience preferred

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and solutions
