Not a remote or hybrid position. This role requires 100% onsite work in Cordova, Alaska.

Who We AreThe Native Village of Eyak (NVE) is a federally recognized Tribal government based in Cordova, Alaska—a remote, roadless community nestled between the eastern Chugach Mountains and the waters of Prince William Sound.Our ancestral homelands have long served as a traditional gathering place for the Eyak, Aleut, Tlingit, and Athabascan peoples and span more than 55 million acres of land and sea, encompassing the Copper River Delta and the Northern Gulf of Alaska. Essential Notice:

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for providing cleaning, sanitation, and environmental services that promote safe, healthy, and welcoming facilities throughout Native Village of Eyak operations. This position performs routine, specialty, and deep-cleaning duties in clinical, administrative, residential, community, and public-use environments while adhering to established health, infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality standards. This position plays a vital role in supporting the well-being of patients, Tribal members, residents, staff, and visitors by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance across multiple work sites and facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of offices, healthcare facilities, common areas, restrooms, kitchens, breakrooms, rental housing units, and event spaces.Clean, disinfect, dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors, furnishings, fixtures, windows, and high-touch surfaces.Follow healthcare environmental services standards, including infection prevention protocols, proper use of disinfectants, PPE use, and medical waste handling.Clean, sanitize and maintain kitchens, breakrooms, restrooms, and patient care areas; restock supplies and maintain sanitary conditions according to established protocols.Removes trash and medical waste in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.Set up or break down tables and chairs as assigned.Clean facilities after meetings, trainings, community events and special programs restoring event space to operational conditions.Reports maintenance issues, or supply shortages to appropriate staff.Performs routine and deep cleaning tasks according to schedules and needs.Participate in infection control training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF ALL STAFF

Follow all NVE policies and related department procedures. Works safely in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.Immediately reports unsafe conditions, hazards, or injuries to HR or the designated safety contact.Attend all mandatory special events, meetings, and training.Assists with special events, meetings, and training as necessary.Always maintain confidentiality.Maintains awareness and sensitivity to various cultures.Embodies Tribal values throughout all work.Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Previous cleaning experience in healthcare environment preferred.DRIVER LICENSE REQUIRED: Possession of a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record in accordance with the company’s auto insurance policy requirements.PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily IndoorsWork will be completed in a variety of locations to include a primary care clinic with varying temperatures and humidity levels and in office, community spaces, or residential housing locations.Potential exposure to biological materials, bodily fluids, and medical waste common to clinical environments.Work may involve contact with regulated medical waste, sharps containers, and contaminated materials, requiring strict adherence to infection prevention and safety procedures.Exposure to hazardous chemicals and chemical vapors may occur when using disinfectants, cleaning agents, or sanitation equipment.Overhead lighting is typically fluorescent or LED.Occasional exposure to noise from cleaning equipment and facility operations.

Other Requirements: Required to submit to a background check and follow the NVE Tribe’s drug policies.
