Job Description:
Wilsonart in Temple, Texas has an opening for an Industrial Maintenance Electrician
Wilsonart, Temple, Texas Maintenance department currently has an opening for an Industrial Electrical Techncian. This person will install, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical and electronic equipment and distribution systems involving electrical work of a broad nature including knowledge of digital analog circuitry. Diagnoses and maintains complex electrical systems and repairs and replaces all electrical apparatus. Performs other tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs and maintains complex wiring circuits and distribution systems to applicable codes for new equipment/repairs.
- Installs and maintains complex electrical and electronic components of varied equipment in the plant.
- Diagnoses complex electrical troubles and break downs. Performs necessary repairs and replaces all electrical apparatus as needed to continue production.

- Install, Troubleshoot and Maintain industrial controls, instrumentation and industrial control wiring.
- Works from complex wiring diagrams, code books, and similar documents.
- Operates production equipment to check work as required.
- Installs/programs/repairs programmable logic controllers (PLC).
- Continue to train others as needed.
- Good predictive analysis and preventative maintenance skills.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems in the plant.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and National Electrical Code.
- Knowledge of electrical principles.
- Knowledge of wiring schematics.
- Knowledge of use and repairs of PLC control systems.
- Knowledge in computers sufficient to utilize word processors, spreadsheets, and PLC interface applications
- Demonstrated ability to continue learning new and complex programs.
- Skill in writing for documentation and record keeping.
- Ability to communicate well in oral and written forms at all levels of the organization, internal and external.
- Ability to be comfortable and safety conscious when operating machinery.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to resolve problems safety.
EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED
Plus an associate’s degree or tech school certificate in the related electrical or electronics field.
EXPERIENCE: 5+ years
Five years of solid, direct electrical experience in an industrial environment and working experience with programmable AC drives, and servo drive systems . Must have extensive experience operating and programming PLC’s, drives and controllers. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code is required. Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS
ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
