Vice President, Business Operations & Strategy

Location: Cleveland, OH

Reports To: President & CEO

Employment Type: Full-Time

MyCity Transportation is seeking an experienced, highly analytical, and entrepreneurial leader to serve as Vice President of Business Operations & Strategy. This is a high-impact executive support role for a leader who can connect finance, contracts, pricing, analytics, compliance, project management, business intelligence, and strategic planning into one disciplined operating system for growth.

MyCity Transportation is a growing transportation management and mobility services company specializing in paratransit, microtransit, shuttle, NEMT, mobility management, transit management consulting, public-sector transportation partnerships, and transportation contract management throughout the United States. We work to improve transportation services that connect people with essential resources while helping public agencies and prime contractor partners deliver reliable, efficient, and customer-focused mobility programs.

  • Supports proposal pricing, contract pursuits, and business development initiatives that directly affect company growth.
Position Summary

The Vice President of Business Operations & Strategy is responsible for financial management, strategic planning, business analytics, contract administration, compliance initiatives, project management, executive reporting, proposal pricing support, technology improvement, and corporate administration. The successful candidate will combine strong financial acumen, analytical judgment, project management discipline, and executive communication skills to support company-wide decision-making.

Key ResponsibilitiesExecutive Leadership Support
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the President & CEO.
  • Prepare executive reports, briefing materials, dashboards, and follow-up tracking.
  • Translate priorities into organized workplans, deadlines, and measurable results.
Financial & Business Performance Management
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Analyze actual versus budget performance, margins, profitability, and operating trends.
  • Develop financial models and decision-support tools.
Proposal Pricing & Growth Initiatives
  • Support RFP responses, proposal pricing, contract pursuits, and business development efforts.
  • Analyze operating data for staffing, scheduling, fleet utilization, service delivery, and risk assumptions.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis.
Contract Administration, Compliance & Risk
  • Organize corporate contracts, renewals, amendments, insurance requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate reviews with legal counsel, brokers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory compliance, claims tracking, corporate registrations, and related documentation.
Business Intelligence, Technology & Process Improvement
  • Develop KPI reporting, executive dashboards, and data-driven management tools.
  • Lead improvements using Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Power BI, Power Query, and related systems.
  • Create SOPs, workflows, project trackers, and process controls that improve accountability.
Project Management
  • Lead cross-functional projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate resources, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Report status, risks, dependencies, and recommended actions to executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, Transportation Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in finance, business operations, transportation operations, government contracting, strategic planning, project management, or a related function.
  • Transportation, transit, logistics, mobility services, or government contracting experience strongly preferred.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CBAP, or government contracting certifications are desirable but not required.
Required Technical Skills
  • Budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, profitability analysis, financial modeling, and KPI development.
  • Advanced Excel and strong data-analysis capability.
  • Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, and Power Query experience.
  • Contract administration, vendor management, executive reporting, process improvement, and written communication.
