Job Description

MEP Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a MEP Engineer based in Switzerland.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation AI infrastructure by supporting the technical evaluation and delivery of large-scale data center projects.
You will work across both mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines, gaining broad exposure to mission-critical infrastructure design and development.
Collaborating with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, you will help assess site feasibility, equipment strategies, and technical requirements.
The position is ideal for an engineer looking to expand their expertise while contributing to complex, high-impact infrastructure initiatives.
You will play a key role in building technical standards, improving evaluation processes, and supporting projects from early assessment through construction readiness.
This is a hands-on opportunity within a fast-moving, international environment where ownership, learning, and innovation are highly valued.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will support the evaluation and development of AI-focused data center infrastructure projects by providing technical analysis across mechanical and electrical engineering domains. You will collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure projects are technically feasible, well documented, and prepared for successful execution.

  • Support mechanical and electrical due diligence activities for prospective sites, colocation facilities, and build-to-suit opportunities.
  • Prepare technical calculations, equipment comparisons, and engineering summaries that support risk assessments and project decisions.
  • Assist in evaluating cooling systems, power distribution solutions, and infrastructure options against site conditions and capacity requirements.
  • Contribute to Go / No-Go technical assessments by preparing documentation and analysis for key project milestones.
  • Help track equipment availability, vendor constraints, technical assumptions, and cost considerations impacting project timelines.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of technical standards, checklists, templates, and evaluation processes.
  • Assist with documentation of design assumptions, equipment specifications, and readiness criteria before project handoff.
  • Collaborate with consulting engineers, vendors, and internal teams to gather information and maintain alignment throughout project development.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a motivated engineer with experience in mechanical, electrical, or MEP systems who is interested in developing broad expertise within mission-critical infrastructure environments. You should be comfortable working in an evolving environment, collaborating with senior technical teams, and contributing to complex engineering evaluations.

  • 2–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, MEP design, or mission-critical systems.
  • Exposure to both mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines within data center or critical infrastructure environments is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cooling systems such as chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, liquid cooling solutions, and/or power distribution systems including switchgear, UPS, and generators.
  • Ability to perform capacity calculations, compare technical solutions, and create clear engineering documentation.
  • Understanding of data center infrastructure concepts, equipment selection, and technical feasibility assessments.
  • Familiarity with BMS or EPMS controls platforms and commissioning processes is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, consultants, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or progress toward professional engineering certification is considered an advantage.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Flexible and remote-first working environment.
  • Opportunity to contribute to impactful AI infrastructure projects.
  • Career growth opportunities with exposure to complex engineering challenges.
  • Learning and development opportunities in a fast-growing technology environment.
  • Collaborative international team with talented engineers and specialists.
  • High level of ownership and autonomy in shaping technical processes and standards.
