Job Summary:The Behavioral Health Specialist (BSS) reporting to the BSS Clinical Supervisor. The role of a Behavioral Specialist is to assess behaviors of concerns by conducting a thorough investigation of the behavioral and all factors or variables surrounding that participant by conducting a FBA, to develop a BSP/CIP, and to provide ongoing supports to the participant and/or his/her family in the home and community.
Hours may vary depending on situations. Being flexible in your schedule is important based on the needs of the individual and their family.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- None
- Responsible for FBA, BSP and CIP development as needed
- Training of and consultation with family members and waiver providers and other support providers in the purpose, objectives, methods and documentation of the BSP/CIP face to face on its components
- Responsible to the Program Clinical Supervisor
- Responsible for implementing only the BSP objectives in the ISP
- Responsible for the data collection and monitoring of the behavioral monthly reports
- Responsible for the daily health and safety of the consumers
- Attend and provide feedback at ISP Meetings
- Responsible for all duties related to direct-care and Activities of Daily Life
- Responsible for reporting incidents to Direct Supervisor and Incident Manager within 12 hours
- Responsible for adhering to the Policies and Procedures of the Company
- Attend monthly BSS staff meetings
- On Call for crisis response 24/7
- Maintain progress notes
- Other duties as assigned
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer, tablet (iPad), and phone applications necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with groups and individuals
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Bachelors or Masters Deree in Education, School, Clinical, Developmental or Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Professional counseling, Behavioral Analysis, Nursing or other related field. (info directly from the BSS License Application)
- Experience in Human Services is preferred but not required
- Might need to assist individuals with getting up, walking, and moving by lifting or guiding when necessary.
Compensation: Hourly $25-$35 per hour (depends on experience) plus will receive a mileage reimbursement.
