Job Description

About Tactical Revolution

Tactical Revolution, LLC delivers mission-critical tactical equipment supporting U.S. military personnel, federal agencies, and law enforcement professionals. Our products, including ballistic protection systems, tactical gear, and load-bearing equipment, are built to perform in demanding environments. We are seeking a hands-on manufacturing leader who takes ownership of production, develops employees, maintains control of materials and inventory, and ensures work is completed correctly and on schedule.

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Operations Manager leads TACREV's textiles and products assembly team while personally managing the manufacturing supply chain, inventory controls, manufacturing documentation, production scheduling, and quality-control activities. This position combines direct employee management, manufacturing engineering, and industrial engineering process improvement. You will supervise production employees and perform technical work yourself, including developing bills of materials and work instructions, converting issued SolidWorks models into technical drawings, and applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) expertise. The position's priorities are:

  1. Management: Direct the products and textiles assembly team.
  2. Manufacturing: Personally perform documentation, drawing, planning, inspection, and process improvement work for production.
  3. Supply Chain: Own manufacturing purchasing, supplier coordination, receiving, acceptance, discrepancy resolution, and inventory control.
  4. Leadership: Develop employees, establish daily accountability, and build a capable, team-first operation.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Management - Production Operations. Manage the production team: Direct a team of 3–5 textiles manufacturing and products assembly employees, assigning daily tasks, establishing priorities, coordinating schedules, and maintaining clear expectations for productivity, quality, and deadlines. Plan and execute production: Develop daily and weekly production schedules based on staffing, material availability, equipment capabilities, and delivery commitments. Monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to maintain production efficiency. Maintain operational readiness: Ensure equipment, materials, workspaces, and manufacturing documentation are ready for production. Communicate production status, challenges, and recommended solutions to Operations leadership.
  2. Supply Chain - Procurement & Inventory Control. Manage suppliers and purchasing: Oversee manufacturing suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors, including obtaining and evaluating quotations, placing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and ensuring compliance with specifications, pricing, and schedules. Control receiving and supplier quality: Inspect incoming materials and manufactured components, verify specifications, document discrepancies, and coordinate rejections, disputes, returns, replacements, and corrective actions. Establish and maintain inventory accountability: Implement accurate inventory tracking for raw materials, work in process, subassemblies, assemblies, and finished goods. Manage material transactions, receiving, storage, issuing, cycle counts, reconciliation, and replenishment to prevent shortages and production interruptions.
  3. Manufacturing - Engineering, Quality & Process Improvement. Develop manufacturing documentation: Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), fabrication work orders, assembly instructions, and standardized production procedures. Produce technical drawings: Convert issued SolidWorks models into accurate manufacturing and shop drawings, applying GD&T expertise and maintaining proper revision control. Oversee manufacturing quality: Conduct incoming, in-process, and final quality-control inspections. Manage nonconforming products, rejections, approved rework, corrective actions, and acceptance procedures within authorized limits. Manage production execution: Coordinate production scheduling, first-article inspections, prototype manufacturing from issued designs, and subcontracted manufacturing activities. Drive continuous improvement: Evaluate manufacturing workflows, labor efficiency, material utilization, equipment capabilities, and production bottlenecks. Implement improvements that increase productivity, reduce waste, and maintain quality without changing approved product designs.
  4. Leadership - Staff Development & Accountability. Develop and strengthen the team: Train, coach, and cross-train employees while establishing clear performance expectations, quality standards, and individual accountability. Lead daily production meetings: Review staffing, material availability, work assignments, production targets, completed output, quality issues, and outstanding priorities. Enforce quality and operational standards: Conduct routine inspections of employees' work, address performance concerns directly, and ensure adherence to approved manufacturing procedures. Build a team-first culture: Lead by example through discipline, professionalism, clear communication, shared accountability, and continuous improvement. Encourage employee input while maintaining responsibility for decisions, execution, and results.

There are no subordinate engineers. This is a working-manager position requiring employee supervision, supplier coordination, inventory management, and technical manufacturing tasks. This is not a product design or research and development position. You will manufacture from issued designs and improve how the work is performed.

Required Qualifications

  • Direct production-supervision experience, including assigning work, managing schedules, training employees, and addressing performance issues. Project coordination alone does not meet this requirement.
  • Relevant hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, engineering technology, or technically focused production supervision.
  • Current SolidWorks proficiency, including the ability to personally create technical and shop drawings from issued models.
  • Strong applied GD&T expertise, including interpreting requirements and understanding their implications for manufacturing and inspection.
  • Experience creating and maintaining bills of materials, work instructions, manufacturing records, and revision-controlled documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing manufacturing purchases and supplier issues, including quotation review, ordering, receiving discrepancies, acceptance, rejection, and returns.
  • Practical inventory-control experience covering material transactions, physical counts, reconciliation, and movement through production stages.
  • Experience conducting manufacturing inspections and handling nonconforming material, rework, and acceptance decisions within defined authority.
  • Ability to prioritize competing requirements, maintain accurate records, communicate risks early, and follow commitments through completion.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and business software, and the ability to learn TACREV’s purchasing, inventory, and production systems.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Jupiter, Florida, and legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience and demonstrated capability will be considered.
  • Experience with technical textiles, industrial sewing operations, tactical equipment, protective products, or mixed-material assembly.
  • Former Military service.
