Overview:
The Warehouse Operations Engineer supports warehouse operations within Jax Power’s solar manufacturing facility. This role focuses on inventory accuracy, efficient material flow, process improvement, and coordination with production and supply chain teams. The position supports the receiving, storage, movement, and shipment of raw materials, production components, spare parts, packaging materials, and finished products.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure warehouse activities comply with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support receiving, unloading, inspection, put-away, storage, picking, packing, staging, shipping, and production material replenishment.
- Coordinate the timely movement of materials to prevent shortages, delays, and production interruptions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through timely ERP and Warehouse Management System transactions.
- Conduct cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations, and discrepancy investigations.
- Ensure materials are properly identified, labeled, stored, handled, and traceable.
- Monitor warehouse workflows, space utilization, inventory movement, and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities.
- Investigate inventory and process issues, determine root causes, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Implement improvements that enhance safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, quality, and material flow.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, process flows, and training materials.
- Track warehouse performance indicators and prepare reports for management.
- Coordinate with Quality regarding damaged, rejected, quarantined, returned, or nonconforming materials.
- Collaborate with Production, Planning, Logistics, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Support warehouse layout planning, storage optimization, employee training, onboarding, audits, and safety inspections.
- Perform other warehouse operations and process-improvement duties as assigned.
Key Requirements & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Zero to three years of experience in warehouse operations, manufacturing, logistics, inventory control, or supply chain is preferred.
- Experience in solar, electronics, automotive, battery, or high-volume manufacturing is preferred.
- Working knowledge of ERP and Warehouse Management Systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory control, material handling, production replenishment, cycle counting, and material traceability.
- Familiarity with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, 5S, Lean manufacturing, and process standardization is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate operational records.
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively with warehouse employees, supervisors, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform warehouse-related activities throughout an eight-hour or longer shift, as required.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, machinery, and forklift traffic.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to climb stairs, access storage locations, and perform physical inventory-verification activities.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment in designated areas.
Place of Job in the Organizational Structure:
The Warehouse Operations Engineer reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and works closely with Warehouse, Production, Planning, Logistics, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
