Team Lead - Software Development

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Team Lead - Software Development based in India.

This role is designed for an experienced software engineering leader who combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership.
You will guide a team of engineers while contributing directly to the evolution of enterprise-grade financial automation solutions.
The position offers the opportunity to modernize complex applications, improve engineering practices, and deliver scalable solutions for global customers.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, architecture, and customer-facing functions to drive impactful outcomes.

Accountabilities:

As a Team Lead - Software Development, you will be responsible for leading engineering initiatives while remaining actively involved in software design and development. You will support the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions while improving team performance and technical capabilities.

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of software engineers by promoting collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Delphi-based applications and enterprise software solutions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and solution planning activities.
  • Drive roadmap execution by partnering with product and development stakeholders.
  • Ensure strong engineering standards through code reviews, testing practices, performance optimization, and secure coding methodologies.
  • Support application modernization efforts while ensuring reliability and continuity for existing systems.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve product reliability.
  • Encourage the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools while validating generated code and documentation.
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and career development initiatives for engineering team members.
  • Continuously improve development processes, engineering practices, and technical standards.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineering professional with extensive software development experience, proven leadership abilities, and expertise in enterprise application environments. You should be comfortable balancing hands-on coding responsibilities with team management and technical decision-making.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Delphi development experience, preferably with Delphi version 12.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing software engineering teams.
  • Strong expertise in PL/SQL and relational database design.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise application architecture and software design principles.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, business-critical applications.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting abilities, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials Cloud or Oracle E-Business Suite is preferred.
  • Background in financial automation, banking, payments, treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or ERP solutions is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and Oracle databases (12C or higher).
  • Experience integrating Delphi applications with modern APIs and services.
  • Experience leading application modernization projects.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar enterprise-approved solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams is beneficial.
