School-Based Opportunity -- St. Lucie, Florida -- 2026-2027 School Year

SPEECHCOM, INC. is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our supportive school-based team in St. Lucie, Florida!

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with students while receiving ongoing clinical guidance and support from an experienced supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.

Rate of Pay: $34-$39 per hour W2 (depending on experience)

What You'll Do:

  • Provide individual and/or small-group speech-language therapy
  • Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP
  • Collect therapy data and maintain documentation
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff
  • Support students with a variety of communication needs, including articulation, language, fluency, pragmatics, and AAC

What We're Looking For:

  • FL state-issued license as a speech pathologist assistant (SLPA) required.
  • Must pass Livescan fingerprinting
  • At least 1 year of experience working as a school-based SLPA.
  • Clear a TB test
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for working with children in a school setting.
  • Adaptable, positive, and team-oriented.

Requirements:

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent listening and communication skills.Strong ability to recognize nuances in speech.Basic understanding of the concepts of Speech Pathology.

Education and Experience:

Training in vocational school, related on-the-job experience, or an Associate’s degree required.

Current Florida state-issued SLPA license

Primary Job Duties:

  • Select or prepare speech-language instructional materials.
  • Assist speech-language pathologists in the conduct of student screenings or assessments of language, voice, fluency, articulation, or hearing.
  • Implement treatment plans or protocols as directed by speech-language pathologists.
  • Assist speech-language pathologists in the remediation or development of speech and language skills.
  • Collect and compile data to document students' performance or assess program quality.
  • Document students' progress toward meeting established treatment objectives.
  • Perform support duties, such as preparing materials, keeping records, maintaining supplies, and scheduling activities.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, or other visual displays to communicate students' performance information.
  • Participate in training and continuing education courses to maintain licensing and professional requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
