Job Description:
The Fabricator/Fitter is responsible for reading blueprints and fabrication drawings, fitting and assembling metal components, and preparing products for welding and finishing. This position ensures all fabricated assemblies meet company quality standards, customer specifications, and production schedules while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and production specifications.
· Measure, mark, cut, grind, drill, and fit metal materials to required dimensions and tolerances.
· Fabricate and assemble structural frames, supports, brackets, enclosures, skids, and other custom metal components.
· Lay out components and ensure proper alignment prior to welding.
· Operate fabrication equipment include band saws, ironworkers, punches, drill presses, grinders, and other shop machinery.
· Perform MIG welding and tack welding as required to secure assemblies before final welding.
· Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment (training/certification as required).
· Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized, and safe condition.
· Follow all OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and manufacturing procedures.
· Assist with material handling, staging, loading, and other shop responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED preferred.
· Minimum 2 years of fabrication and fitting experience preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
· Experience using fabrication equipment and measuring instruments.
· Basic MIG welding experience preferred.
· Ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
