POSITION OVERVIEW: Will powered industrial fork truck(s) for movement and disposition of production materials. Accurately move inventory into or out of storage as directed. Load, unload, and move materials within or near plant. Package material to ship to customers. Perform inventory related activities including cycle counts.
This position reports directly to the Site Supervisor. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
- AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:
- Retrieve information pertaining to work orders by utilizing a computer terminal.
- Work from oral or written instructions and/or follow established instructions or routines.
- Count, weigh, record, and maintain record of handling activity.
- Locate material to be moved.
- Check parts for identification number and description against instructions.
- Pick parts in containers for movement as directed.
- May use power tools to package and unpackage items
- Keep record of placement, assist in maintaining or adjusting inventory records as required.
- Expedite and follow up on rush orders.
- Designate special locations for rejected/scrapped parts.
- Operate an industrial fork truck to pick up, move place, and position materials.
- Observe and practice good housekeeping while performing all duties.
- Manually load, unload, or stack materials.
- May use overhead crane to move incoming stock.
- Responsible for working safely and driving industrial fork truck at safe speeds with pedestrians present.
- Performs any other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalency (GED).
- Must be able to read, write, add, subtract, and carry out instructions.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Previous material handling experiences preferred.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work with minimal direction from team leader.
- Must make decisions with regard to quality of product.
- Must be able to make minor decisions involving some judgment in carrying out procedures and following prescribed routines.
- Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 50 pounds or less with or without assistance.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Travel between production facilities may be required.
