As a Sales Engineer, you will provide technical leadership throughout the sales process while supporting customer engagement, solution development, and long-term client success. You will collaborate with sales, product, marketing, and professional services teams to deliver effective cybersecurity solutions aligned with customer objectives.
- Provide pre-sales technical support for cybersecurity, compliance, managed security, and security consulting opportunities.
- Engage with customers to understand business requirements and define appropriate managed security, compliance, vulnerability management, and consulting solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with technical decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within target accounts.
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities by engaging with customer technical communities.
- Translate customer requirements, proposed solutions, and business value into proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and technical documentation.
- Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations to technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive audiences.
- Act as a trusted security advisor by helping customers evaluate solutions, develop business cases, and understand ROI and total cost of ownership.
- Collect customer feedback and communicate market insights to product and services teams to improve offerings.
- Own solution development by coordinating with sales, professional services, product management, and marketing teams.
- Support technical initiatives, customer engagements, and industry events.
The ideal candidate combines strong cybersecurity knowledge with proven experience in sales engineering, consulting, and customer-facing technical roles. You should be comfortable communicating complex security concepts to both technical and executive audiences while helping organizations make informed technology decisions.
- 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, including at least 2 years in technical solution design or pre-sales environments.
- Professional experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or similar role supporting enterprise customers.
- Experience working in customer-facing positions with the ability to present technical and business concepts to varied audiences.
- Strong communication skills with experience delivering product demonstrations and security presentations.
- Excellent written skills for RFP responses, proposals, pricing documentation, and technical requirements gathering.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies including SIEM, EDR, cloud security, firewalls, network intrusion prevention, and data loss prevention.
- Familiarity with security platforms and solutions such as Microsoft security products, Palo Alto, Netskope, Splunk, Carbon Black, or Fortinet.
- Ability to understand security frameworks, industry standards, and best practices.
- Experience with managed security services or professional security consulting environments.
- Knowledge of GRC, penetration testing, PCI audits, security assessments, or offensive security services is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, GIAC, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience creating technical architecture designs and responding to complex enterprise RFPs is a plus.
