Tenure-Track or Tenured Associate Professor, or Full Professor

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

School of Pharmacy

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated individual for an open-rank tenure-track or tenured professor position. The ideal candidate will have documented outstanding research experience that is focused on medicinal chemistry; candidates with expertise in chemical biology will also be considered. The successful applicant is expected to establish and lead an independent laboratory and conduct extramural funding driven research. Teaching and service excellence are also expected of the successful candidate, who is expected to teach in the PharmD and Graduate Degree Programs of the School of Pharmacy,

Candidates must have a PhD, MD/PhD, PharmD, or other degree and either postdoctoral training or commensurate experience in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, chemistry, or a closely related field with existing funding or a clear potential for future extramural funding. Salary for this calendar-year appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The School of Pharmacy partners with UPMC, which is one of the leading integrated health care delivery networks in the country; the NCI-designated UPMC Hillman Cancer Center; the University of Pittsburgh’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI); and the University of Pittsburgh's life sciences innovation project BioForge.
