Job Description
Axia Residential is seeking an experienced Regional Manager to oversee the operational, financial, and physical performance of a portfolio of multifamily communities, including Class A, Class B, and value-add assets.
This is not a traditional desk-based Regional Manager role. We are looking for a hands-on leader who operates with an ownership mindset, spends significant time in the field, develops strong onsite teams, and is willing to step in wherever needed to help our communities succeed.
What You’ll Do- Lead, coach, develop, and hold onsite teams accountable for operational and financial performance.
- Conduct regular property visits, inspections, coaching sessions, unit walks, and operational reviews.
- Drive occupancy, leasing performance, pricing and concession strategy, resident retention, and exceptional customer service.
- Own portfolio financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, operating expenses, payroll, delinquency, bad debt, and NOI growth.
- Review key performance indicators and develop action plans to improve property performance.
- Ensure communities consistently meet company standards for curb appeal, maintenance, apartment turns, leasing, and resident experience, vendor performance, and expense control.
- Partner with Asset Management, Marketing, Facilities, Construction, Human Resources, Accounting, and other departments to execute property business plans.
- Support renovations, value-add initiatives, acquisitions, property transitions, and other operational priorities.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing requirements, landlord-tenant laws, company policies, and applicable regulations.
- Serve as a hands-on operational resource during staffing shortages, emergencies, and other business challenges.
- Minimum 5 years of Regional Manager experience overseeing multifamily communities.
- Experience managing Class A, Class B, and value-add communities.
- Strong understanding of multifamily financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and NOI.
- Proven ability to lead and develop multiple onsite teams.
- Strong knowledge of Fair Housing and landlord-tenant requirements.
- Experience with property management platforms such as Entrata, RealPage, Yardi, OneSite, or similar systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned portfolio.
- Think like an owner, not simply an operator.
- Are comfortable making decisions and being accountable for results.
- Enjoy developing people and building high-performing teams.
- Prefer being in the field with your teams rather than managing from behind a desk.
- Are willing to jump in and help wherever needed.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Travel & Work Environment: This position requires regular travel throughout the assigned portfolio, with an expectation of being onsite at communities approximately three to four days per week. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required based on business needs.
