Kitchen Staff in Evanston, Illinois at LYDIA HOME ASSOCIATION

Function

Assist the chef in ensuring a smooth functioning of the kitchen and the serving of nutritious and

appealing meals 3x/day for children who live at Lydia Home, keeping in compliance with all

regulations. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen work environment. Routinely introduce new

foods and tastes to enhance lifelong healthy eating.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh

• Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients

• Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods

• Occasionally serve food

• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes

• Handle and store ingredients and food

• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards

• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils

• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients

• Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers

Schedule: 5 AM- 1:30 PM

• Food service experience is preferred
• Must be able and willing to support the mission of Lydia Home Association (LHA)
• Must be organized and have a warm, welcoming, and engaging personality
