This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of network security, application protection, and cybersecurity operations.
You will monitor security events, investigate suspicious activity, and help protect web applications and corporate environments against evolving threats.
The position has a strong focus on WAF administration, AppSec, vulnerability analysis, and security control optimization.
You will collaborate with teams across security, infrastructure, networking, development, and cloud to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
As a mid-level professional, you will have autonomy to investigate incidents, fine-tune protection policies, and recommend improvements.
The role combines operational monitoring with continuous improvement, technical analysis, and incident response.
This is a fully remote opportunity for someone who enjoys solving security challenges in a dynamic technology environment.
- Monitor logs, security events, and alerts continuously, identifying anomalous behavior and potential cyberattacks.
- Administer, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot WAF (Web Application Firewall) solutions.
- Analyze and respond to events involving the protection and availability of web applications.
- Create, adjust, and review WAF security rules and policies, balancing effective protection with application availability.
- Investigate and resolve false positives, distinguishing legitimate application behavior from malicious activity.
- Support the identification and mitigation of attacks targeting web applications, including SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), bot attacks, and exploitation of web vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with AppSec, Information Security, Infrastructure, Networking, Development, and Cloud teams.
- Support vulnerability assessments and security testing, identifying weaknesses and recommending corrective actions.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security policies and controls.
- Participate in the response and containment of medium-complexity security incidents, helping maintain operational continuity.
- Perform risk analyses and recommend appropriate protection measures.
- Prepare technical reports, security indicators, operational documentation, and activity records.
- Monitor indicators related to security events, incidents, vulnerabilities, and application protection.
- Identify opportunities to improve security processes, controls, policies, and operational practices.
- Support the implementation of security updates and corrective actions across the environments under the team’s responsibility.
- Participate in technical meetings with internal teams and, when required, with clients.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security controls and the overall protection posture of corporate environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education qualification.
- Professional experience working with WAF (Web Application Firewall) solutions.
- Knowledge of Application Security (AppSec) concepts and practices.
- Experience analyzing logs and correlating security events.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and VPNs.
- Knowledge of configuring and managing firewalls, IDS/IPS, and proxy solutions.
- Knowledge of vulnerability analysis and common web application threats.
- Understanding of security policies, controls, and protection mechanisms.
- Ability to analyze, investigate, and interpret security events effectively.
- Practical experience administering and troubleshooting WAF environments is a plus.
- Experience with WAF technologies such as Akamai, Cloudflare, or Imperva is desirable.
- Knowledge of OWASP and major web application vulnerabilities is an advantage.
- Experience with cloud environments, incident response, monitoring platforms, or SIEM tools is desirable.
- Experience working in high-criticality corporate environments is a plus.
- CompTIA Security+ certification is considered a differential.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary technical teams.
