Description:

Demonstrates a highly motivated, positive, outgoing personality to ensure that unsurpassed member service is continuously provided by every team member. Maximizes every opportunity to increase membership, refer consumer and real estate loans as well as promote e-services to the membership in the branch. Must possess skills to motivate team members to work together to achieve goals, in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Motivates all team members to provide an unsurpassed level of member service, meeting and exceeding their expectations with every interaction. Ensures a smooth working relationship with other department team members when their assistance is needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and quantity of work. Assigns, directs, coordinates and reviews work.
  • Responsible for having a thorough knowledge of all products and services offered by the credit union, including but not limited to, shares, consumer loans, and e-services.
  • Accurately take applications for Consumer and Home Equity loan products, provides referrals to the MLO for Mortgages. Assist in processing and closing Consumer loans.
  • Overseas the incoming loan application program. Ensures at least two employees are available to process incoming loan applications (including self).
  • Assists the team with loan applications ensuring accurate information and member contact.
  • Refer appropriate members to the First New York Retirement and Investments Services Program.
  • Assures both account and loan servicing issues or concerns are processed correctly, and resolution is communicated to the member in a timely manner. Illustrates the ability to analyze member problems and find beneficial solutions in a timely manner.
  • Follows and ensures that all team members follow policies and procedures applicable to their positions to maintain compliance with government and credit union regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Responsible for determining that proper control and individual accountability of cash and the handling of cash is in accordance with regulations and accepted accounting principles.
  • As assigned, routine audits of teller cash, and other negotiable security and branch logs in accordance with written procedures.
  • Oversees branch balancing.
  • As assigned, ensures that new employees are thoroughly trained in all phases of their particular job. Cross-trains staff as appropriate.
  • Completes realistic and timely appraisals of team member performance.
  • Support the team in reaching goals assigned to the branch.
  • Participates in all goals related to Community Outreach activities.
  • Handles monthly reports
  • Conducts reviews of all new memberships to ensure quality control and compliance standards are met.
  • Authorizes exceptions to normal policy or procedures when circumstances warrant and where deviation is justified.
  • Maintain Notary Public, NMLS designation and Signature Guarantee services.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in business or related discipline with 3-5 years' experience. This includes having completed High School or obtaining your GED equivalent.
  • Financial institution experience a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate team members.
  • Must possess supervisory capabilities.
  • Should possess detailed knowledge of all branch functions.
  • Must be familiar with banking or credit union policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to respect confidential information.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Should have a thorough knowledge of PC software programs and internet navigation.
  • Must be accurate, thorough and neat in work habits.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm, Saturday 9:00am - 1:00pm (Varied)
