Position Hours: Full-Time (36 hours but paid for 40)
Position Type: Non-Exempt
SLOLAF is seeking a full-time intake coordinator to help answer phone calls and emails from community members seeking help. This position is part of SLOLAF’s legal team and works under the supervision of SLOLAF’s Supervising Legal Assistant.

San Luis Obispo Legal Assistance Foundation (SLOLAF) is a non-profit legal aid organization with a mission to provide legal services and resources to people in need. For decades, we’ve served low-income residents, seniors, veterans, disabled adults, and other vulnerable populations, regardless of immigration status. With a staff of 12 full-time and 4 part-time employees and several volunteers, and offices in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, we provide free legal assistance to SLO County low-income residents in the areas of housing (eviction defense, unsafe housing, foreclosure prevention etc.), domestic violence restraining orders, elder abuse restraining orders, conservatorships and guardianships of the person, and senior legal services.

Key Responsibilities
· Answering the phone
· Returning voicemail messages
· Responding to emails requesting assistance
· Screening callers for eligibility
· Completing client intakes
· Providing referrals to callers SLOLAF does not serve
· Performing conflicts checks using SLOLAF’s case management system
· Greeting clients arriving for appointments, ensure they are comfortable
· Helping with data collection from clients and callers for SLOLAF’s grants
· Manage front office responsibilities, including maintaining printer supplies, handling incoming and outgoing mail, and keeping the resource wall organized and up to date
Requirements:· Bilingual Spanish/English
· Strong organizational skills
· Must work well with others
· Ability to work well independently and willing to take initiative on projects
· Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Word & Excel, Adobe, and the internet
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Passion for SLOLAF’s mission
