Job Description
Taxing Authority Consulting Services, P.C. is a Virginia law firm with a focus in its practice to serve only government entities in managing accounts receivable, tax assessments, and the general revenue cycle. Our firm’s extensive experience in collection, bankruptcy, and assessment matters offers our clients full-service representation related to their receivables.
Schedule: 8 hour shift between 8:00 AM-6:30 PM; Monday- Friday
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Location: Henrico, VA
Summary of Role:
The Payoff Specialist will provide full-time comprehensive support to Collections Department, the Real Estate Litigation Specialists, and our attorneys for TACS, a law firm providing tax collection services, along with our clients.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compile documents concerning Delinquent Real Estate taxes to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Collaborate with a multitude of Virginia Treasurers and Departments of Finance to collect current tax amounts, improving collection efficiency.
- Communicate information of Tax Sales to localities, title, and mortgage companies, facilitating seamless transactions.
- Track all cases and organizes and maintains client files as it pertains to payoffs.
- Performs general tax collection duties; connect via phone, email, team chat internal staff and clients.
- Identify all parcels for the property to correctly prepare the proper payoff request for settlement.
- Strong understanding of the billing system (RevQ) and attention to detail.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Basic math skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal or collection databases, and Adobe software.
- Understanding of collection guidelines, real estate laws, and legal documentation.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and legal environments.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; collections and/or real estate training preferred.
- Previous work experience in collections, finance, or legal support role.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
